    1.     Organization

     

         The College of Life and Creativity consists of three departments, two bachelor programs, and two centers. The total student population is about 3,322.

     

    (1) Departments:

    l   Department of Early Childhood (undergraduate program)

    l   Department of Applied Foreign Languages (undergraduate program)

    l   Department of Sport, Health, and Leisure (associate-bachelor, undergraduate and graduate programs)

    l   Bachelor Program of Tourism and Recreation

    l   Bachelor Program of Biotechnical and Cosmetology

     

    (2) Centers:

    l   Cheng-Shiu Art Center and Health

    l   Leisure Industrial production Center

     

    2. Educational Objectives

     

    (1)   The major emphasis is focus on the cultivation of students’ vocational and practical skills in various professions in order to connect with industrial development.

    According to the standard curriculum demand, the course design integrates workplace knowledge and practical field training to ensure its accomplishment; therefore, students are trained and equipped the professional knowledge and techniques to fulfill the needs of the industry and society.

     

    (2)   The specialized abilities of science and technology and humanities should be merged into students’ learning.

    The course teaching guidance pays equal attention to both theory and practice, humanities and social science; therefore, students’ enthusiasm for humanistic society will be integrated into the technical specialized application to accumulate specialized energy for future careers.

     

    (3)   Multi-dimensional courses are offered to promote students’ abilities for cross-domain integration and competitive power in the future.

    Courses include various cross-domain programs to enhance students’ cross-industrial knowledge; therefore, students are led to accommodate to the requirement in the multi-dimensional industry and the society. 

    (4)   Students are expected to succeed in cultivating their creative-thinking and broadening their global perspective.

    Striving for the resources from educational, governmental, and industrial aspects, the diversification of teaching combines the internationalization and local specialties; therefore, knowing how to build up cultural characteristic will enable students to create the superiority in their future career.

     

    3. Features

     

    (1) To improve students’ knowledge of the fundamental theory and practical skills to fit the needs of the industrial tendency and requirement.

    (2) To promote students’ general knowledge in social humanities and specialized domain, to enhance their concern of humanity and broaden their global perspective.

    (3) To enrich teaching and research facilities, and to enrich instructors’ teaching outcomes and students’ learning achievement.

    (4) To improve the quantity and quality of the academic research and projects in the departments of the college.

    (5) To connect all the departments in the college to provide support on a profession level and to solidify its institute system.

     

    4. Faculty

     

          The college has 70 full-time faculty members: 70% of them are with a position of assistant professor and above, and 49% of them hold a doctor degree.

     

    5. Facilities

     

          The college has equipped 45 specialized labs and practice rooms (an English language lab, a fashion and esthetics studio, a tea art studio and a beverage-making classroom, a movement-biochemistry analysis lab, a situational-simulation specialized classroom, a baby-sitter certificate examination room, and so on), and 7 audio-visual and seminar rooms.
